  PHASE II - Safety First
M Lesson II-1: Safe Walking Under Difficult Conditions
  II-1. Students will list pedestrian rules of safety.
  II-2. Students will name safe walking practices under difficult conditions.
M Lesson II-2: Obeying the Traffic Signs
  II-3. Students will explain the meaning of traffic and pedestrian signs.
M Lesson II-3: Don't Forget Your Safety Belt
  II-4. Students will describe proper use of lap and lap-shoulder safety belts.
  II-5. Students will use a chart to evaluate their own use of safety belts.
  II-6. Students will demonstrate ways to encourage others to wear safety belts.
M Lesson II-4: Biking Safely
  II-7. Students will list procedures for safe bicycling.
M Lesson II-5: Having Friends and Staying Safe
  II-8. Students will use the five problem solving steps to solve a problem involving bicycle safety.
M Lesson II-6: Staying Safe Around Water
  II-9. Students will explain safety rules dealing with aquatic activities: swimming, boating, and non-swimming rescues.
M Lesson II-7: Safe in the Sun
  II-10. Students will explain how sunshine can help and can harm people.
  II-11. Students will list times of the day which require sun protection activities.
  II-12. Students will describe ways to protect skin from the sun.
  II-13. Students will explain the significance of “The ABC's for Fun in the Sun.”
M Lesson II-8: Safe From Injury at Home and at School
  II-14. Students will list ways they can prevent injuries at home and at school.
  II-15. Students will state how to get help if there is an emergency at home.
M Lesson II-9: Dental Safety
  II-16. Students will describe activities and situations which may be hazardous to teeth.
  II-17. Students will explain ways to prevent and care for a dental injury.
M Lesson II-10: Personally Safe
  II-18. Students will explain what to do in potentially dangerous situations.
  II-19. Students will state that an abuser could be a stranger or someone they know.
  II-20. Students will summarize the importance of seeking safety first and then telling an adult, regardless of threat.
