  PHASE II - Staying Safe
M Lesson II-1: Unintentional Injuries
  II-1. Students will analyze situations to determine the major human and environmental factors that cause unintentional injuries.
  II-2. Students will develop plans for avoiding unintentional injuries.
M Lesson II-2: Avoiding Danger
  II-3. Students will describe ways to reduce the incidence of injuries when a gun is involved.
  II-4. Students will contrast violence in media with violence in real life.
  II-5. Students will practice responding in dangerous situations.
M Lesson II-3: Safety on Wheels
  II-6. Students will list safety rules for wheeled recreational equipment.
  II-7. Students will list the laws and rules in their community that apply to wheeled recreational equipment.
  II-8. Students will identify the appropriate protective gear for each kind of wheeled recreational equipment.
M Lesson II-4: Standing Up for Safety
  II-9. Students will use the steps for solving problems and making decisions in a situation involving safety with wheeled equipment.
M Lesson II-5: Vehicular Safety
  II-10. Students will explain reaction time, concentration, and maneuverability under various conditions.
  II-11. Students will describe how occupant behavior affects the driver of a vehicle.
  II-12. Students will list safety rules and safety belt laws for passengers of vehicles.
M Lesson II-6: Personal Safety
  II-13. Students will classify touches as good or bad touch.
  II-14. Students will demonstrate what to do if bad touch occurs.
M Lesson II-7: Safety While Home Alone
  II-15. Students will list things to do to stay safe when they are home alone.
  II-16. Students will review the steps for making an emergency phone call.
M Lesson II-8: Practicing Home Alone Safety Rules
  II-17. Students will demonstrate following safety rules for staying home alone.
  II-18. Students will demonstrate making an emergency phone call.
M Lesson II-9: Burn Prevention
  II-19. Students will list the major causes of burns.
  II-20. Students will design ways to prevent burns and fires.
M Lesson II-10: Safety Summary
  II-21. Students will use their knowledge about staying safe to play a game.
