  PHASE IV - Resisting Pressures to Use Drugs
M Lesson IV-1: Drugs and the Respiratory System
  IV-1. Students will summarize how the respiratory system works.
  IV-2. Students will name the drugs which have harmful effects on the respiratory system.
  IV-3. Students will design a way to present drug facts to their classmates.
M Lesson IV-2: Tobacco Products: Smoked
  IV-4. Students will demonstrate their knowledge of smoked tobacco products by acting as peer educators with classmates.
  IV-5. Students will describe the harmful effects of using smoked tobacco products.
  IV-6. Students will conclude that they will not smoke tobacco products.
M Lesson IV-3: Tobacco Products: Smokeless
  IV-7. Students will demonstrate their knowledge of smokeless tobacco products by acting as peer educators with classmates.
  IV-8. Students will describe the harmful effects of using smokeless tobacco products.
  IV-9. Students will summarize the laws regarding the sale and use of tobacco products.
  IV-10. Students will demonstrate ways to refuse tobacco products.
M Lesson IV-4: Inhalants and Crack Cocaine
  IV-11. Students will describe the harmful effects of using inhalants or crack cocaine.
  IV-12. Students will summarize the laws regarding the use of inhalants and crack cocaine.
  IV-13. Students will conclude that they will not use inhalants or crack cocaine.
M Lesson IV-5: Marijuana
  IV-14. Students will describe the harmful effects of using marijuana.

  IV-16. Students will demonstrate how to respond to people who encourage them to use marijuana.
M Lesson IV-6: Influences and Advertising
  IV-17. Students will list various influences to use drugs.
  IV-18. Students will describe four cigarette advertising strategies.
M Lesson IV-7: Advertising Doesn't Fool Me!
  IV-19. Students will analyze cigarette ads for the presence of advertising strategies.
  IV-20. Students will rewrite a cigarette ad to resist advertising pressures and provide accurate information on tobacco use.
M Lesson IV-8: The Many Faces of Peer Pressure
  IV-21. Students will define peer pressure.
  IV-22. Students will classify positive, negative, actual, and perceived peer pressure.
  IV-23. Students will classify three levels of peer pressure.
  IV-24. Students will demonstrate various kinds and levels of peer pressure.
M Lesson IV-9: The Positive ”No“
  IV-25. Students will identify examples of various pressures to smoke from a story.
  IV-26. Students will clarify the benefits of saying “No.”
  IV-27. Students will conclude that saying “No” to negative pressures is the best thing to do.
M Lesson IV-10: Ways to Resist Pressure
  IV-28. Students will identify five categories of responses that can be used in resisting pressure.
  IV-29. Students will develop responses in each category.
  IV-30. Students will demonstrate saying “No.”
M Lesson IV-11: Refusal Skills Practice
  IV-31. Students will demonstrate a variety of ways to say “No” in different situations.
  IV-32. Students will clarify behaviors that make refusal skills effective.
