Nutrition
The goals of this module are that students will:
- Understand how a person's body image can
influence eating patterns.
- Understand the health benefits of eating a
variety of foods from the five food groups, in
the recommended number and size of servings.
- Apply their knowledge of healthy weight
management to identify myths regarding weight
loss and create plans for healthy weight loss.
- Analyze the difference between healthy and
unhealthy eating patterns.
- Understand how nutrition affects physical
activity, athletic performance, pregnancy, and
fetal development.
- Apply their knowledge of nutrition to plan
nutritious meals within a budget and at fast food
restaurants.
- Access accurate, reliable information on
nutrition-related topics.
- Understand where to locate help for concerns
regarding nutrition issues.
- Synthesize reliable nutrition information to
present research findings to peers.
- Apply their knowledge about nutrition to
formulate a plan for improving their personal
nutrition.
