Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drug Prevention Module for
Grades 7 and 8
The goals of this module are that students will:
- Understand the rules and laws related to alcohol,
tobacco, and other drugs and apply them in their
homes, schools, and communities.
- Understand the influences that promote alcohol,
tobacco, and other drug use in young people.
- Understand the potential health, social, and
legal consequences of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use.
- Review and teach four important skills needed to
live a drug-free lifestyle.
- Apply knowledge and skills in promoting drug-free
messages to their peers.
- Identify and locate reliable sources of
information and assistance for drug-related
issues.
- Make personal commitments to living drug free.
