Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drug Prevention Module for Grades 7 and 8

The goals of this module are that students will:

  • Understand the rules and laws related to alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs and apply them in their homes, schools, and communities.
  • Understand the influences that promote alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use in young people.
  • Understand the potential health, social, and legal consequences of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use.
  • Review and teach four important skills needed to live a drug-free lifestyle.
  • Apply knowledge and skills in promoting drug-free messages to their peers.
  • Identify and locate reliable sources of information and assistance for drug-related issues.
  • Make personal commitments to living drug free.
