Physical Activity Grades 7-8

“It's Time to Move!”

Goals of this module are that students will:

• Understand the benefits of regular physical activity.
• Understand the recommended amount and types of physical activity necessary to achieve health benefits.
• Analyze the barriers to being physically active and the influences which encourage physical activity.
• Apply their knowledge and skills to set personal goals for maintaining or increasing their physical activity.
• Apply their knowledge and skills to monitor their progress toward being physically active.
• Apply their knowledge and skills as they promote physical activity among their peers.
