GRADE 4

Grade Four Phase I Lesson 6

Lesson Title: A Different Way to Learn    (40 minutes)
Learning Objective(s)

I-13. Students will describe how someone might feel because of their unique qualities.

I-14. Students will demonstrate ways to show acceptance for others.

Preparation
  • Gather the needed materials.
  • Decide how you will divide your class into groups of four for Activity 2.
  • Duplicate the Student Worksheets, I Could Help By..., so that each group of four students will get one copy, or use the student workbook.  Note:  There are four different situations for the students to consider.  Make sure you duplicate different situations so that only two or three groups have the same situation.

Addenda
The book, What Do You Mean I Have a Learning Disability? is out of print.  If you still have access to this book it is an excellent resource for this lesson.  If however, you do not have a copy, a new book has been proposed as a replacement.  When approved, an addendum will be posted.

Materials List
  • Book:  What Do You Mean I Have a Learning Disability? (see addenda note)
