Grade Four Phase I Lesson 1 

Lesson Title:  Control--It Comes in Different Forms!     (30 minutes)
Learning Objective(s)

I-1. Students will define the four kinds of control.

I-2. Students will describe how control changes as they grow and mature.

I-3. Students will describe how controls help keep them healthy and improve the school environment.

Preparation
  • Gather the needed materials
  • If the poster, Controls, is not already laminated, do so for Activity 2.
  • Duplicate the Student Worksheet, Kinds of Control so there is one copy for every pair of students, or use the student workbook.
  • Determine how you will form pairs for Activity 2.
  • If you haven't already done so, write out your classroom rules on a large piece of paper for use in Activity 3.
  • Duplicate the Family Resource Sheet, one per student or use student workbook.
