Lesson Title: Negotiation-A Skill to Help Us Solve Conflicts   (30 minutes)
Learning Objective(s)

I-23. Students will use the steps in negotiation to solve a hypothetical conflict.

I-24. Students will describe situations that necessitate telling an adult.

Preparation
  • Gather the needed materials.
  • Select a conflict situation from the situations suggested by the students in Lesson 5. The situation must be one that is appropriate for the classroom and able to be solved through use of negotiation.
  • Decide how you will divide your class into groups with six students in each group for Activity 2.
  • Duplicate the Student Worksheet, Steps to Negotiation; one per student or use the student workbook.
