The R.E.A.D.Y. Kit is the central product
of the R.E.A.D.Y. (Read, Educate and Develop Youth) program. It was
developed by the
Michigan Department of Education to help parents of
young children take advantage of the great opportunity for developing
learning skills in the first years of a child's life. Parents are
after all, a child's first and most important teachers.
The R.E.A.D.Y. Infant Kit has been
expanded from a collection of literacy tools to a kit of valuable
resources addressing the needs of the "whole child." There are two
versions of this kit; a Michigan Kit and a National Kit. The
Michigan kit contains materials and contact information specific to
Michigan parents and the National kit contains national contact
information.
Other R.E.A.D.Y. Products include age
specific literacy packets for toddlers, preschoolers and those
entering early elementary years, as well as an award winning video for
parents. Click here to view all the R.E.A.D.Y. products
