All lessons, at all grades, are totally scripted to insure lessons can be taught with fidelity. Manual/modules revised since 2006 also include outline version for quick reference by teachers who are experienced with the curriculum.

Teacher reference materials are included within the lessons where appropriate, and recommend-ed for teacher review in the lesson preparation, to provide consistent background information to all teachers.

Pre/Post Tests for each content area at elementary where appropriate (Grades 2-5 currently available.*) and each secondary module as part of the revision process.

Correlations to State Council on Assessment and Student Standards Health Education Assessment Project (SCASS HEAP) items. The items are selected from the data base and are aligned with the lessons in the modules and are suitable for teacher-developed classroom assessments.

A chart with item numbers are included in the curriculum. States must have membership to SCASS HEAP to be able to access the data base to build the assessment.

*As modules are revised, Pre/Post tests are developed and pilot tested for validity and reliability. Tests are distributed to teachers as the final instruments become available. All other means of assessment are included in the teacher manuals/modules for teachers to use at their discretion to assess the quality of their individual instruction.
