Riverside Middle School first entered the Michigan Model Partnership for Character Education under the leadership of then-principal James Nicolette, and continues under the leadership of the current principal, Michelle Ghareeb.

As one of the four comprehensive school sites, Riverside Middle School is addressing six key goals:

Make the Riverside Middle School building more responsive to students, staff, parents and community needs
Involve the students and the community to be more active in the life of the school
Improve relationships among students, staff, parents, media and the community
Reduce the barriers to learning for students at Riverside Middle School
Develop strategies to improve the delivery of the character education curriculum
Create a collaborative learning environment for students and families while strengthening the K-12 community of schools of which Riverside Middle School is a part (the Creston Family of Schools.)
